The newly formed United Congress (UNICO) has promised to close the gap between the rich and the poor if they can be in government. The party launched its manifesto in Jesus Family Church in East London during February 2014.

Party president, Mluleki George says UNICO’s manifesto will also focus on issues of education, health, fraud and corruption and jobs.

He says there is a dire need to improve education and health system in the country. The party says it will contest the elections in Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Limpopo and Gauteng.

George says he is also concerned about the alarming rate of unemployment amongst the youth.

“We must fight and destroy poverty and this country has got enough resources but strange enough the gap between the poor and rich is widening. We want to fight this poverty you, cannot fight this thing without making sure that decent and sustainable jobs are created,” said George.

This information is gathered from the IEC and the above party website or publicly available documents.
