Nombasa Swartbooi is working hard to ensure her music career is growing from strength to strength. Following her latest collaboration with a Western Cape producer, Livard Hansa she is preparing a launch of a second album namely “Vum’Iindaba” (Welcome The Good News).
The 14-track album will be launched on this Sunday, October 20 in Uitenhage. Mbasa as she is affectionately known, believes she is taking the gospel industry to another level and soon her music will be heard beyond the boundaries of the Eastern Cape.
She described her latest CD as ‘Spiritually Fulfilling’, accessible to all ages and written in both English and Xhosa.
Swartbooi attributes the quality of this CD to the brilliance of producer Hansa and is convinced the audience will enjoy every moment of this show.
Songs such as the title track “Vumi Iindaba”, “Zion Express”, and “Wakrazulwa” are set to get the crowd on their feet.
Although Swartbooi has not been in the gospel industry for a long time she has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with icons like East London anchor Veliswa Skeyi.
During the upcoming launch, she will feature with local stars and bands including Thabo Namba, Phakamile Mbanzi, Sinothando, Restoration and Luyanda.
All gospel followers in the Metro are invited to the album launch at the KwaNobuhle Community Hall-Babs Madlakane, on Sunday, 20 October at 14h00 in the afternoon.
Tickets are available at R60. For more information contact manager Thobile Makhasi at 074 518 7668.
