Twitter introduces new feature for cowards

We are all so locked in to not offending anyone that we are afraid to UN-Follow, UN-Like, UN-Plus, anyone that we followed, liked or plussed in the early glow of our newly created social media accounts.

Why? Because we are afraid that that person or entity will feel bad when we move on to someone new.

I say; “Grow a pair or, in the case of those with a pair – grow a bigger pair and just unfollow etc.!”

Along comes Twitter with a clever little twist called the MUTE button. Basically you click the mute button (see image) and that users tweets no longer appear in your timeline.

Making the announcement Twitter said; “Muting a user on Twitter means their Tweets and Retweets will no longer be visible in your home timeline, and you will no longer receive push or SMS notifications from that user. The muted user will still be able to favorite, reply to and retweet your Tweets; you just won’t see any of that activity in your timeline. The muted user will not know that you’ve muted him/her, and of course you can unmute at any time.”

In one fell swoop Twitter have solved a problem for cowards the world over – I just wonder if they are doing this to ensure that follower numbers stay artificially high?
