To Paraphrase Bob Marley; “We are about to get a Big Tree in our Garden”!

1 June 2019 By Alan Straton

Big Tree Marketing has collaborated with various tourism organisations including The Kelway Hotel, City Lodge Group, Amakhala Game Reserve, Blundens Coach Tours, Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism and Eastern Cape Adventure Province, to bring 17 South African tour operators on an experiential educational tour of the region.

These tourism influencers arrive on Monday 3 June and will spend the following four days discovering and learning so that they are better equipped to promote the region to their own clients. Tour operators are important advocates who shape travel patterns and it is our hope that they will discover activities, tours, restaurants and attractions that will encourage them to book their guests for longer periods rather than just an overnight stop en route to a game lodge. Essentially we are looking for more bed nights in Port Elizabeth and Eastern Cape and bringing in these Tour Operators is a how we plan to make this happen.

Big Tree Marketing director, Lindsey Gibaud has put together this educational saying “I am a strong believer that when the tide comes in all ships rise, tourists visit an area because of what they can do there so it follows then that this educational would be a collaboration with selected partners to create a high-value experience for these influencers.”

Day one commences with presentations from main sponsors followed by two days of local activities and tours ending at Amakhala Game Reserve on day three. Blundens Coach Tours have sponsored a vehicle to transport the group with accommodation supplied by The Kelway Hotel and City Lodge Group.

The programme also includes a presentation from well-known local conservationist Grant Fawlds who will be launching a new book in November.

Big Tree Marketing is about collaborating and this week is a perfect reflection of what can be done when passionate tourism people come together for the benefit of many.
