There are only a few times throughout the year when you can completely let go without having to worry about anything. There is one event in the Port Elizabeth region which offers just that. The chance to get as dirty as you like and not even have to clean up. Children love it and more often than not parents and adults are compelled to join in.
This Sunday, the 28th of April, the Haval Port Elizabeth Muck Run will give you all of this and more. Competitors who attend the race are required to run, jump and sometimes swim through the dirtiest, muddiest obstacles they have ever seen. However, the unique obstacle style trail run focuses less on the tough, macho side and more on the comradery and spirit of it all. It offers the chance for a family outing or an entire office to bond as a team while taking on the combined efforts of man and mother nature.
This year’s Muck Run has received a massive boost from Haval Port Elizabeth. The SUV manufacturer has identified the Muck Run as a great race to align itself with and will be the new title sponsors for 2019. This contributes to plenty of new additions to the Muck Run including some out of the box ideas and obstacles at the same fantastic venue. While mother nature will be throwing its fair share at you, the man-made objects may be the more interesting to encounter. One such obstacle is the 50-meter slip and slide which will feature at this year’s event. This new addition is set to create loads of excitement. Set on the banks of a dam and at a gradient of approximately 30 degrees it will not be for the faint of heart. The obstacle is a first for the Eastern Cape and one of the longest inflatable slides in South Africa. The slide is just one of many obstacles at the event, which promises to be one to remember.
To completely remove all the worry cleaning dirty clothes, participants are encouraged to donate all their dirty or unwanted clothing to the GWM pick up point afterwards. From their it will all be generously cleaned by Spin Cycle laundromat and given to the Rotary Club of Port Elizabeth to distribute to those in need. In this way the Muck Run competitors can make a difference to some of those people who are less fortunate before the cold of another winter.
Post-race there will also be a unique wooden collector’s Muck Run medal for all finishers and some amazing lucky draw prizes up for grabs at the event. Combine this with the opportunity to make new and lasting friendships at a fun-filled one of a kind event and what better way could there be to spend your time than at the 2019 Haval Muck Run. Social media video and pictures will be released by Oracle Media after the event so that participants can share their experience.
