Time for Pimms and Rowing at Redhouse

22 October 2013 By Alan Straton

The Grey High School and Zwartkops Rowing Club are inviting you to join them in the beautiful village of Redhouse for a fun day out on the river bank, watching young local rowers give it their all in the annual ZRC/Grey Heads Regatta..

A heads racing regatta sees rowing crews crossing the start line in numerical order and individually timed over the course. There are no heats, and medals are awarded to the winners of each event.

The races will be over 1km, 2km and 5.6km distances. The U15 events will be raced over the new 1000 metre ‘Henley’ Stretch (alongside the village towards the mouth)

All the local rowing schools and clubs will be taking part in this hotly contested regatta – St Andrews College, Selborne, Grey High School, Nemato, ZRC, Clarendon Girls and DSG.

There will be refreshments and food on sale. A bar service will be also be available.

The regatta starts at 9:00 am on Saturday 26 October and promises to be an exciting event and an ideal day out on the river for spectators and family.
