There’s no Tourism without Art

15 February 2021 By Port Elizabethan

Dear MyPE

The initiative “There’s no Tourism without Art” at the Red Location Cultural Precinct, has already & joyfully set into motion. It is set to run throughout 2021, once a week on Saturdays, at the Precinct, between 14:00 & 16:00.

All kinds of creatively activities are on the programme. The last programme, the 3rd of 45 programmes, took place on 13 Feb ‘21 – where children played Draughts under the facilitation of Lubabalo Kondlo, our awesome & very own International Draughts Champion from Red Location!

The children prepared the beautiful Draughts boards & disks in a previous session.

THE TRANSFORMATION GETTING THE RED LOCATION CULTURAL PRECINCT OPERATIONAL AGAIN, HAS ALREADY BEGUN… BECAUSE ITS EMBRACED AND ACTIVATED BY THE PEOPLE ON THE GROUND.

To outsiders, this situation may seem impossible to change. They stare themselves hopeless into the seriously vandalised Precinct.

But to the Red Location residents & activists behind getting the Red Location Cultural Precinct operational again, this situation fills their minds with positivity & hope for definite upliftment and change. They are already steering & driving the vehicle for change! Where there is a will, there is a way indeed.

Join in and volunteer to support this awesome initiative!

For more info, chat with Mike Pantsi, &/or Lungelo Ngabaza, &/or Anele Ryu Zephe, &/or Alan W. Straton

Our special thanks to Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism for sponsoring our project with masks, hand sanitisers and some delicious fruits.
