The Longhair and I seem to have built in cat magnets as we attract all the strays and ferals in the neighbourhood. Some have remarked that our home is like a witches home when people see our cats draped over the porch waiting their next handout.
Now Thomas the cat is an entirely different kettle of stinky fish.
Thomas was the last one to arrive before we removed the catnip from our garden. What you see today is the older improved Thomas who has grown a bit of hair back, been neutered (the chopped off ear demonstrates that he has been neutered), fed, watered and injectioned.
Thomas still suffers from feelings of inadequacy, flea allergies, skin rashes, mouth infection, snuffles, eye infection and an insatiable appetite.
Can you believe that Thomas goes off to the vet every month for an antibiotic and cortisone injection?
The Longhair chooses a particular veterinarian at the practice we go to as she knows that this vet will not give her the lecture about being kind to Thomas and letting him go and gambol in cat heaven or hell judging just by his skanky appearance!
Thomas is variously known as “Mafia”, “Witches Cat” and “Beautiful Boy” – no prizes for who calls him that!
Back to that appetite: When his mouth infection first manifested itself we were advised to have all his teeth pulled. Of course the Longhair didn’t take that advice and has for months now, twice daily, taken a small portion of Lucky Pet, some Steri Milk, some hot water and an egg and beaten this all together into a Cat Smoothie. Then she has stood patiently over Thomas whilst he eats his gourmet cat smoothie with his personal food bodyguard chasing the other cats away who get to eat dry cat pellets.
Thomas has now got clever and is living the high life by inhaling his Cat Smoothie and then making his slow stomach waddle to where the other cats eat their pellets. Thomas then proceeds to sneeze all over the other cat bowls which kinda upsets them and makes them vacate the feeding area leaving their food open to being stolen by Thomas.
Thomas has been known to eat 4 bowls of food.
Which brings me to another thought – he must have the biggest worm known to mankind as he stays thin, skanky and a menace.

@MyPE Thomas lacks Vitamin C in his diet. A 1000mg tablet every day will help him tremendously! *no such thing as an ugly cat*
