The Medihelp Nelson Mandela Bay Train Race will take place on 1 October 2017. This unique race gives athletes the opportunity to compete against a Metro Train along the scenic route between Port Elizabeth station and Uitenhage station. It’s a community-driven event that draws corporate, social, club and school relay teams. Each team consists of five runners and one mountain bike cyclist. The race is popular for its festive atmosphere and the opportunity to have healthy fun outdoors for athletes and spectators alike.
Heyn van Rooyen, Principal Officer of Medihelp, says the Scheme is proud to be associated with this event that promotes a healthy lifestyle and community participation.
“Promoting a healthy lifestyle is important to Medihelp, and therefore the Scheme supports events with a similar focus. What makes the Train Race so ideal is that it brings the entire community together, with people from various ages and sectors competing on the day”, says van Rooyen.
Medihelp invites everybody to join in the fun at the starting point or finish line, for a spectacular man versus machine show-off.
