The Mandela Bay Development Agency is embarking on a bold programme to root out crime and drug dealing in the economic, tourism, beachfront and inner city hubs through private sector security law enforcement. Security dogs have been sourced from the Western Cape to patrol hot spot areas and 63 trained security guards have been deployed in the areas along with five vehicles. The MBDA has spent millions of rands upgrading areas in the inner city and now they want to attract business back to the city centre with the creation of a safe environment for both business and tourism.
