Hillary Rodham-Clinton, incidentally the first and greatest Woman President that the United States of America [USA] never had, put it simply what a statesman is: ” The statesman thinks about the next generation, whilst the politician thinks about the next elections”.

It is therefore a great guideline for everyone that is still blinded by the motives of politicians, whom are primarily Clout, Fame & Relevance seekers; if not and/or outright Money, Status & Relevance worshippers that have replaced the Christian trinity of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit with the above-mentioned Commonalities or Commodities [items of trade].

In the South African context, the Radical Economic Transformation [RET] Brigade of the ANC has mutated through its ever-expanding offshoots, as in the Economic Freedom Fighters [EFF], Black Land First [BLF], other Gremlins & Cults being founded by the likes of Ace Magashule and Hlaudi Motsoeneng. Last but not least in that political mutation, the Mkhonto we Sizwe [MK] party, that is being spearheaded by compromised candidates of the selfsame RET offshoots whose prime commonalities seem to be Entitlement, Self-enrichment if not bare-knuckled Greed and Bigotry [us and them paraphrased]; apparently not the African Renaissance and Native Intelligence vanity projects envisioned by former president Thabo Mbeki.

It is therefore fitting for the last day of Women’s Month to have the said lady, Hillary Rodham-Clinton, as a point of reference in what a statesman [and/or stateswoman] actually is or should be.
