We here in Port Elizabeth, Nelson Mandela Bay should be aiming to become known as the ‘City that punches above it’s weight!”

Plucky, innovative, forward thinking, all inclusive and fun.

If Dundee on the East Coast of Scotland can do so by taking ownership of such things as Solar Charging of Electric Vehicle Chargers and creating a friendlier face for the massive wave of electric vehicles about to hit the automotive industry then why can’t we do it even better?

We have the support of NMU and the uYilo facility, a favourable regime for renewable power, a planned battery manufacturing plant, local manufacturers already busy with electrification rollouts and some seriously bright people looking to contribute to a smart city.

The time has come to put all of these people together and plan our success.

Dundee, “the sunniest city in Scotland” is leading the adoption of electric cars, EV taxis, solar electric car charging and even North Sea oil tanker decommissioning.
