The Australians are Coming

4 October 2016 By Alan Straton

EP Cricket and St George’s Park is gearing up for a big 2016/2017 summer season with the first match being the Proteas vs Australia Momentum One Day International on 9 October 2016.

As always these two powerhouse teams will be looking to thrill the fans with top class cricket and a fan experience to be remembered. The ever popular St George’s Brass Band, who celebrate their 20th anniversary, will keep the historic St George’s vibe going entertaining both fans and teams.

South Africa and Australia will arrive in Nelson Mandela Bay on Thursday 6th October. Practice sessions will be held on Friday and Saturday with the match starting at 10am on Sunday 9 October.

Gates open at 8am and the ticket office at St George’s is open weekdays 8:30-4:30 and Saturday 8th October from 9:00 – 16:00. Tickets are also available from www.ticketpros.co.za and various retail outlets (full list available on the ticketpros website).

Ticket prices are as follows:

  • Adults – R160
  • Scholars / Pensioners – R100
  • Reserved seats range from R210 to R240.

Various hospitality options are also available and can be booked through the stadium.

“We are calling on all cricket lovers to come out and support the Proteas and give them the Nelson Mandela Bay welcome they deserve. We are very excited to be hosting 3 international matches this season with a further three allocated to St George’s next summer. By having capacity crowds we send out a clear message that Nelson Mandela Bay and St George’s is ready to continue hosting top international teams.” said Leigh Deyzel, Commercial Manager.

Future matches to be played this season include 6 domestic Warriors games, an SA vs Sri Lanka Sunfoil Boxing Day Test Match (26-30 December) and an SA vs Sri Lanka Momentum One Day International on 28 January 2017.
