That perfect shot could earn you a car

19 June 2014 By Alan Straton

The PwC Corporate Golf Challenge hosted by Humewood Golf Club received a boost this week when DataDot, a microdot manufacturing company based in George and a supplier to the motor industry in Port Elizabeth, announced the sponsorship of a Chevrolet Spark for any of the golfers who are able to achieve the perfect shot (hole-in-one).

DataDot associate themselves strongly with business in Port Elizabeth and see this sponsorship opportunity as a way of providing excitement at the PwC Corporate Challenge where a number of the Metro’s corporates will be participating. Although a hole-in-one can be viewed as a rarity, less than three months ago a local golfer shot two hole-in-one’s in a round. This provides proof that this elusive achievement can be a reality.

The presence of a brand new Spark placed on a strategic tee on the Humewood Golf Course will provide the corporate golfers with a major incentive and is not inconceivable that one of the golfers might well have to phone his partner to drive the second car home at the conclusion of the PwC Corporate Challenge.

Andy Blew, managing director of DataDot, said that he was delighted to make this contribution and be part of the Metro’s first Golf Corporate Challenge event.

“I sincerely hope that somebody wins this Spark and I’ll be the first to congratulate him or her on doing so. We all look forward to a fun day and congratulating the ultimate winners of the event and maybe the Chevrolet Spark,” said Andy Blew.

The PwC Corporate Challenge takes place on Tuesday, 24 June 2014 with a shotgun start at 11h30. Corporates still wanting to participate are invited to contact Jessi Low at Emslie Events as the field is nearly full.
