I hereby wish to thank all Ward 1 Resident residents for your patience & tolerance of the road closures / restrictions during the Spec-Savers Ironman weekend.
As you are aware, we had perfect weather for the large field of entrants, and it was an extremely successful event.
The success of the event is also due to the amazing public support given to the athletes along the entire route, and you were part of this success.
I know that some residents are more affected than others by the road closures, and I need feedback on what can be improved for next year.
Should you have any suggestions, or anything adverse to report, kindly email items to me (use the form below) as soon as possible as these matters will be raised at the de-brief meeting which will be held shortly.
Two matters that I am aware of are the traffic jams at the back of Summerstrand, due to lazy Traffic Officers not manning traffic light intersections, and the early noisy start of the team at the Boundary Lane and Buffelsfontein Road corner.
