Free Wi-Fi. Why?

18 April 2019 By NMB Communications

Editor: The press release below extolls the free wi-fi offering from the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality. The political cynic within me cannot help but wonder at the timing of these wonderful free offerings being given at the expense of the ratepayers. The burning question is really; "Is this a case of using ratepayer money to electioneer?" Followed by; "How morally corrupt can one be if this is true?": The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality is taking bold steps to re-align the City with the 4th … [Read more...] about Free Wi-Fi. Why?

Eastern Cape communities get free WiFi

9 March 2019 By Alan Straton

The local communities of Sterkspruit, just outside Aliwal North in the Eastern Cape, will now be able to connect their cellphones to the free WiFi that was officially launched by Communications Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams on Friday. Among other things, the free WiFi is set to help students to search for information on the internet and entrepreneurs to market their businesses and products to other provinces and to the outside world. Speaking after unveiling the plaque for the J.G … [Read more...] about Eastern Cape communities get free WiFi

Free Wi-Fi access needed to move EC economy forward

31 August 2016 By Port Elizabethan

Dear MyPE The provincial government must take urgent measures to bridge the digital divide between the insiders – those who have access to Wi-Fi and the internet – and the outsiders – those with no or little access.  There needs to be a clear plan put on the table to roll out free broadband access in the province. Our provincial economy is being stunted by the lack of access to free Wi-Fi and many cannot break out of the poverty trap without it. The DA believes that every resident in … [Read more...] about Free Wi-Fi access needed to move EC economy forward

Bay Municipality’s first of its kind wi-fi service

1 June 2016 By Alan Straton

Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality

The launch of a first of its kind wi-fi and wireless voice call service at the Walmer High School yesterday, subsequent to the wi-fi service launched at municipal libraries and customer care centres earlier this year, sets the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality apart from other municipalities in the country. The wi-fi and voice call service, which will be for sale at a fraction of the price charged by other providers, started in 2014 with high mast lighting infrastructure and retro-fitting it … [Read more...] about Bay Municipality’s first of its kind wi-fi service

Are electromagnetic fields dangerous?

3 May 2013 By Tanya Wyatt

Tanya Wyatt

When I'm approached by clients looking to improve their overall health, weight and energy, I'm repeatedly reminded of the fact that we humans are subjected to some pretty stressful elements on a regular basis. Some of these can be easily recognised and understood, such as junk food and drinks, food chemicals, environmental pollutants etc. Some, however, have not been quite so well publicised, even though they have far-reaching health consequences. In this article, I want to make you aware of … [Read more...] about Are electromagnetic fields dangerous?
