Hold on to your hats as ADSL Broadband speeds up

ADSL speed upgrades are on the way, telecommunications company Telkom said on Friday. "This will enable Telkom Internet to effectively increase the value to entry level broadband customers," it said. The ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) upgrades will be as follows: 'Up to 384 kbps' will become 'Up to 1 024 kbps' and its 'Up to 1 024 kbps' will become 'Up to 2 048 kbps'. The Higher Education and Training Department says R886 million has been invested in connecting South African universities and public research organisations to each other at a minimum speed of 10 Gigabits per second.
