Dear MyPE The unilateral undertaking by the municipal manager and senior officials of the Department of Cooperative Governance (Cogta) to pay striking workers in the Baviaans Municipality without a mandate from the council, has backfired. Camdeboo Local Municipality in the Sarah Baartman District is the Eastern Cape's top green municipality for 2015, beating five other local municipalities and taking the coveted award as well as a R500,000 cash reward.
