The Independent Electoral Commission's final voter registration weekend saw a total of 1 259 560 new potential voters registering to vote in the 7 May general elections. While over 400 000 people have visited voting stations across the country to register for the upcoming municipal elections, the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) on Sunday urged citizens to make their way to stations ahead of the deadline at 5pm.
