The DA condemns the violence in the Northern Areas of Port Elizabeth in the strongest terms, particularly the xenophobia targeted at Somali shop owners. Repair of damaged roads due to rioting
Drove down Heugh Rd and Community Street today and noticed quite a bit of damage to the tar on the roads. I have a feeling that the damage was most probably caused by the burning of tyres etc during the riots. We have a largely dysfunctional, struggling Metro, where the people who pay very little, in respect to rates, lights and water, find the muscle and behave like thugs to demand better services.
