Dear MyPE The Democratic Alliance welcomes the slight improvement in the 2016 matric results from 56.8% to 59%, an increase of 2.5%. But this is far off the department's goal of 70%. There is no cause for celebration. We are the worst performing province, with the five worst performing districts, each obtaining less than 50%. EC Province Last in Matric Results
The Class of 2016 has achieved an overall national pass rate of 76.2% in the 2016 National Senior Certificate (NSC) Examinations, from a previous figure of 74%. This was announced by Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga on Wednesday in Midrand, ahead of the release of matric results. "The national pass rate without progressed learners is 76.2%. Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga says it is all systems go ahead of the 2016 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations scheduled to begin on 26 October.
