Wildlife thriving at Hopewell
The Hopewell Conservation Estate team has recorded a 25% growth in the eland, kudu and red hartebeest numbers over the last year. This is great news for visitors to the reserve, and future home owners on the Hopewell estate. 200 mountain bike enthusiasts take on the Hopewell hills
Around 200 riders of all ages gathered at Hopewell Conservation Estate early on Monday morning, December 17, to take part in a fun Open Ride celebrating the launch of three brand new mountain bike trails. Hopewell is the Eastern Cape’s Newest Nature Reserve
The Hopewell Conservation Estate, located off the Old Cape Road in Port Elizabeth, has been recognised as the Eastern Cape's newest nature reserve by the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency (ECPTA). Night trail running returns to the Hopewell Conservation Estate in April, with courses to suit everyone in the family. This follows the first ever night trail run through a nature reserve, which attracted hundreds of runners in December last year. Angulate and parrot-beaked tortoises as well as a number of puff adders will be introduced to their new home at Hopewell Conservation Estate on Tuesday, December 20. They will be released back into the wild after months of successful rehabilitation at the Humps and Bumps Tortoise Rehab Centre in Port Elizabeth. Nearly 90 individual runners, 20 three-person relay teams, and six under fourteen athletes competed in the first Hopewell Conservation Night Run.
