On Wednesday 22 January 2014 the Longhair and I contributed (in a very small way, mind you) to the ongoing well being of the birdlife on Bird Island by hithching a ride with Adrian James (he of NSRI fame) on the Blue Pearl (owned by Morven Maclean of all round nice guy fame). A couple of days ago I picked up and am currently reading a book by Dougal Roberston entitled Survive the Savage Sea. Dougal and six of his family spent 37 days adrift in the Pacific after their 19-ton 43-foot schooner, Lucette, was stove in by a pod of killer whales. Port Elizabeth Dolphin Feeding Frenzy
The image below of birds and dolphins in a feeding frenzy was taken whilst out on a sunset cruise this past Friday evening. People strolling along the beachfront were treated to an absolute show within a few metres of the shoreline. Observers gathered along the shoreline at various vantage points to get a closer look at the amazing spectacle that was unfolding.
