Meet Young Port Elizabeth Talent Gino Lee

Gino Lee is one of the Bay’s most talented teens. The 15 year old singer, keyboardist and performer won the M-NET Young Star award in 2010, and was one of the opening acts for M-NET Idols the same year. Born and raised in Port Elizabeth, he began singing just two years ago in the River Road Band, but hopes to be a successful solo musician one day. Port Elizabeth rockers, GRITT The Band toured a number of music festivals in the UK during August this year. "The festivals we attended ran many stages and artists performed back to back, on a tight schedule, they are very organized and professional," says manager, Zoe Fick. The band performed at the Crash music festival as well as Todstock. "We were so delighted that the crowds loved our sound and music, we even received cries for more," says Fick. Inspiring performers and music educators, Gareth and Ulagh Williams have embarked on a music development programme aimed at identifying young talent in the township schools of Nelson Mandela Bay and providing them with high-quality musical training. TwoTone manages the TwoTone Show Band, as well as the Mandela Bay Symphonic Wind Orchestra and Mandela Bay Big Band (MB3).
