EP Kings Continue Winning Streak to Top Log

7 August 2011 By Alan Straton

The EP Kings top the Absa Currie Cup First Division log after they won their fourth successive game of 2011 when they beat the Valke by 36-20 at the Barnard Stadium in Kempton Park on Friday afternoon. It was hard work for the team from Port Elizabeth though, perhaps even harder than the scoreline suggests. With a few minutes left on the clock, the Valke closed the gap to 29-20, but a last-minute try by Mathew Tayler-Smith, his second of the game, gave the EP Kings a bit more breathing space … [Read more...] about EP Kings Continue Winning Streak to Top Log

1 August 2011 By Alan Straton

The Absa Currie Cup First Division is essentially still a two horse race as the Regent Boland Cavaliers and EP Kings stamped their authority on the competition with two more big wins. EP Kings and Boland Cavaliers Look to Cement Winning Streaks in Absa Currie Cup First Division

22 July 2011 By Alan Straton

Welkom is the destination for Boland, where they face the Tasol Solar Griffons. The team from the Cape winelands lost badly on their last visit to the Free State's Gold Fields (52-13), a result they would like to turn around this season. The Griffons lost their opening game this season when the Valke beat them in Kempton Park last weekend, but any team visiting the Northern Free State will tell confess that it's one of the more difficult venues to play at. The only other game in the Absa … [Read more...] about EP Kings and Boland Cavaliers Look to Cement Winning Streaks in Absa Currie Cup First Division
