Greetings to all Ward 1 voters
In spite of the DA’s decision to remove me, after a flawed process, I believe I still have lots to offer the Ward.
I have been your Ward Councillor for the past 8 years, know it well, and have many friends in the Ward.
With this knowledge, and 12 years of Tourism and event experience, I want to continue to fight for the Ward to make it crime free, clean, disabled friendly, sport friendly and a preferred place to live.
You can ensure this and show the DA that they made an error of judgement in removing me. They took you, the voter, for granted.
They delayed this by-election and have denied you the services of a hardworking councillor for the past 9 months.
Vote for me to continue the fight for proper service delivery.
We need a strong and effective opposition in Council, where I was often called “Councillor Question”, due to my many questions.
Once re-elected, I will work with the DA, and other opposition parties, to ensure that we save this Metro from its downward spiral.
Your vote for me will strengthen the opposition!
Independent candidates have been winning Council seats across SA as voters are fed-up with petty party politics.
It is time for this to happen right here, right now!!
Our last Independent Councillor was Alderman John Vieira, and remember what a great job he did for this City.
Please keep in mind that this is an election for your Ward Councillor only. There is no party vote.
The result will have no influence on party strength in Council, or provincially or nationally.
I am not asking you to vote against the DA in the national election. All I am asking is that you consider whether you want me, an experienced, hard-working councillor, with a proven track record as your representative, or an unknown DA candidate with no track record at all.
The decison rests in your hands. It is time to work together to save our Metro.
Vote Independent and please vote for me on Wednesday, 2nd April.
Regards
Stanford Slabbert
Ward 1 candidate
