StickerPaper in Durbanville Sorts Its Printable Sticker Sheets by Printer Type First, Then Finish, for Crafters and Small Studios

DURBANVILLE, South Africa – The most common sticker paper mistake happens before anything is printed: an inkjet sheet goes into a laser printer, or the other way round, and the result is smudged colour or a sheet that curls and lifts. StickerPaper, a supplier in Durbanville, Cape Town, has laid out its printable sticker paper range so that the printer decides the sheet before the finish does.

There are inkjet and laser versions of matte, gloss, clear, vinyl and kraft, because the two printers treat media very differently. Inkjet sheets are coated to take liquid ink cleanly. Laser sheets are made to survive the heat and pressure of toner.

Choosing a finish

Matte is easy to write on after printing and suits pantry labels, planners and filing. Gloss gives brighter colour for gift stickers and thank-you labels. Clear lets the jar or bottle show through, though print opacity needs care. Vinyl stands up to handling on water bottles, school items and maker packaging. Kraft gives a natural, rustic look for handmade gifts and market stall goods. Each finish comes in A4 and A5 sheets, label sheets and cutter sheets, and a finish sampler pack lets first-time buyers compare all five before committing to a full pack.

“Print one sheet, let it dry, and do a test cut on a corner before you run fifty,” said StickerPaper’s product adviser. “Vinyl and clear usually want a slower blade setting than matte. Most of the wasted sheets we hear about come from skipping that one test.”

Hand cut or machine cut

Hand cut sheets suit scissors and craft knives for one-off gifts and simple square labels, while kiss cut friendly sheets leave the backing intact so stickers peel away cleanly. Circles, contour cuts and repeated shapes are quicker on a craft cutter. Full sheet and small sheet formats cover larger layouts and short test runs.

Storage matters too. Coastal humidity and dry Highveld air both affect how sheets feed, so packs are best kept closed, flat and out of direct sun. StickerPaper delivers across South Africa from Durbanville, and orders are placed on the StickerPaper website.
