Sophakama Community Based Development, Care & Support Programme

SOPHAKAMA COMMUNITY BASED DEVELOPMENT, CARE & SUPPORT PROGRAMME was added to our #CharityFeature on 02/06/2020.

Sophakama’s mission is to provide a range of educational, health and community support services in disadvantaged communities. The organisation is primarily a child rights organisation.

1. Health Services including facilitating access to health facilities & services i.e. clinic, social worker, facilitating support groups and individual access to counseling services;
2. Education, Training & Development – support and provision of access to after school (primary & secondary) programmes, provision of Parenting and other developmental initiatives (ECD) as well as job readiness for youth;
3. Children Services (OVC’s) including psycho-social support through local primary school partnership Teacher Learner Care Programme (TLC), feeding scheme, after school programmes and sport and recreational activities;
4. Nutritional Support & Sustainable Livelihoods Services including referrals to a range of government services, assistance to access official documentation and grants, counselling and health services and engagement on broader community issues.
5. Human Rights – Stigma and Discrimination reduction.
