SmashDown Lists Its Woodstock Rage Room Packages for Cape Town Friends, Couples and Staff Teams

The Woodstock rage room runs solo, group, birthday and team sessions, each starting with a safety briefing and full protective gear.

CAPE TOWN, South Africa – Plates, bottles and old electronics on a steel table, a crowbar in hand and a face shield down. That is the whole idea at SmashDown, a rage room in Woodstock, Cape Town, which has published its full list of rage room packages for individuals, couples, friends and work teams.

Booked by group size

Sessions run from a solo booking through duo and trio sessions up to groups of four, five and six, with a double room booking for bigger groups that need to split up. Themed packages cover date nights, friends nights, birthdays, stag and hen outings, family sessions and student groups. Express and extended formats change the time spent in the room, and weekday sessions suit people who prefer a quieter slot.

For workplaces there is a team smash package with event coordination, an icebreaker session for groups that have only just met, and a competition format with supervised rounds.

Guests can add GoPro recording, a crate upgrade for more breakables, or a spectator pass for anyone who would rather watch.

Gear on before anyone swings

Every booking starts with a briefing on room rules, striking distance and how to move in the space. Each participant wears a helmet with a face shield, gloves and overalls, and closed shoes are required. Minimum ages are explained at booking and again on arrival, and staff stay present to manage the session.

“Most people arrive a bit nervous and leave laughing,” said SmashDown’s safety and briefing lead. “The briefing is what makes that possible. Once everyone knows where to stand and when to step back, they stop thinking about the rules and actually enjoy it.”

SmashDown is clear that a session is a physical activity, not therapy or mental-health treatment.

The Woodstock venue is a short trip from the city bowl, Observatory and Salt River, and draws groups from Bellville, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Somerset West. Group size, a date and the occasion can be sent through the SmashDown website, and the Woodstock crew confirms within a working day.
