The march was proceded by a parade of cars through the township streets. Most of them had loud-hailers, the drivers blaring slogans and exhorting everyone they passed to come to the day’s rally. This was interspersed with blasts of ‘Umshini Wami’ (Bring me my Machine Gun), the struggle song most associated with Jacob Zuma.
