Rosa McLaren – Top 40 Under 40

9 January 2012 By Alan Straton

The Top 40 under 40 is a showcase of local business talent under the age of 40 compiled by the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber (NMBBC).

Rosa McLaren (38), is the Group Marketing Manager for KFML Holdings.

“Success,” says Rosa McLaren, “is not instant. It takes time, perseverance and commitment.”McLaren’s own career has followed a steady upwards trajectory – she was appointed Group Marketing Manager for KFML Holdings in 2008, and today heads up marketing for Spec-Savers, Execuspecs and Clear Vision.

2009 saw her recognized as a national finalist in the Corporate category of the Business Women’s Association Business Achievers Awards; she won the regional business achiever’s category the year before. This determined professional – who completed a year’s voluntary service at the South African Army Women’s College after matriculating – is currently developing sustainable social media strategies for the company, and will soon be involved in building an online sales strategy to increase turnover at store level.

She is motivated by possibility: “One of the biggest motivators in my life is the thought of ‘One day’,” says McLaren. “With integrity, honesty and loyalty, I aim to build lasting relationships – in business, reputation is worth more than money.”

The Top 40 Under 40 list, an NMBBC initiative, was compiled from nominations and selected by an independent panel at the NMBBC. The end result is a showcase of talented and ambitious young businesspeople from diverse sectors in Nelson Mandela Bay. From 7 December 2011, MyPE showcases one under 40 achiever a day.
