Robbie Dennis Crosses the Floor

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Eastern Cape has welcomed former ANC Mayor of the Kouga Municipality, Robbie Dennis, as a party member.

Today, 29 May 2023, I was joined by Tsitsi-Kouga Constituency Leader, Dr Vicky Knoetze MPL, and Kouga Mayor, Cllr Horatio Hendricks, in welcoming Robbie as he signed his DA membership in Humansdorp. (see picture here)

As an ANC member, Robbie was Kouga Mayor from 2004 to 2011. He left the ANC after the 2021 local government elections and joined the Patriotic Alliance (PA), but soon realised that they are cut from the same corrupt cloth.

Robbie has been following the DA for a long time and said that he could not argue that where the DA governs, it governs well. He wants to change the lives of the people of Kouga for the better and it is only as a member of the DA that this can be made a reality. He has recognised in the DA a party that understands how to change peoples’ lives for the better and how to deliver services and govern for all the people.

We welcome Robbie to the DA and look forward to growing the DA in Kouga and strengthening our efforts to improve the lives of the people.

The DA in the Eastern Cape wants to make it clear that members of other parties, who associate with the DA’s values, will be warmly welcomed.
