Roadworks will continue at night in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.
The South African National Roads Agency Ltd (SANRAL) would like to advise motorists that there will be complete ramp closures on the John Tallant interchange tonight, Monday, 18 April from 7pm until Tuesday morning 5am.
There will also be a ramp closure on the Settlers interchange west bound off-ramp towards Summerstrand (M4), on three consecutive nights, Monday, 18 April, Tuesday 19 April and Wednesday 20 April. Over the three nights roadworks will start at 7pm and continue until 5am the following morning. The roadworks will go ahead, weather permitting.
“There will always be an access route and exit route via the ramps of the intersection, the traffic however will have to use a detour via these intersections. All ramps will not be closed at once,” said Mbulelo Peterson, SANRAL Southern Region regional manager.
There will be digital signs to caution motorist of ongoing roadworks taking place at night.
“Motorists must be observant of all lane closures and warning signs, and exercise extreme caution when travelling through the construction work zones,” said Mbulelo Peterson, Sanral Southern Region regional manager.
SANRAL apologises for any inconvenience caused.
