Roadworks between Majola Tea Turnoff and Tombo:

The South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) would like to notify travellers that controlled road cutting explosions are scheduled to take place on the R61 between Majola Tea Turnoff and Tombo on Friday, 17 June 2016 from 3pm.

The stretch of road approximately 49km from the Mthatha CBD or 35.5km from Port St Johns will be closed for 50 minutes, from 14h55 to 15h45.

“Residents are requested to vacate all houses near the blast area up to a radius of 500m by 2:45pm. Stop-and-go sections are planned for this stretch of road and motorists are requested to plan their trips accordingly,” said Mbulelo Peterson, SANRAL Southern Region’s Regional Manager.

SANRAL apologises for any inconvenience caused.
