Rano Kayser steps up as newly elected Nelson Mandela Bay Caucus Leader

Dear Editor

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Eastern Cape wishes to congratulate Cllr Rano Kayser after his election as new leader of the Nelson Mandela Bay Caucus. (see picture here)

He replaces former mayor Retief Odendaal who was elected to the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature.

Cllr Kayser is a former member of the NMB Mayoral Committee for Roads and Transport and will now serve a second stint as the DA Caucus Leader. He has been a public representative since 2011 and is a tried and tested leader. Cllr Kayser brings a wealth of institutional experience with him that will assist in steering the Caucus in the right direction.

We are convinced that the Caucus, under the leadership of Cllr Kayser, will prove to be an even more effective opposition in Council.

The other newly elected members of the Caucus leadership are:

  • Cllr Pieter Terblanche – Deputy Caucus Leader
  • Cllr Ingrid van Wyk – Chairperson
  • Cllr Ziyanda Kalani – Deputy Chairperson

The DA will continue to fight to rescue Nelson Mandela Bay and its residents from the current failing coalition government. Together we can get NMB working again.
