Humpback Dolphins in Algoa Bay

On every trip we do with AB Marine? Whale and Dolphin Watching we hope and pary to see two cetaceans that make the hearts beat faster:

1. Killer Whales
2. Humpback Dolphins

I have only seen humpback dolphins on three occasions and Killer Whales on many more.

Anthony Opperman and I always cruise past the Humpback Dolphins ‘normal’ eating grounds in the hope that we will spot the humpback dolphins – with less than a thousand along the coast for Cape Town to Mozambique the odds are pretty stacked against us.

BUT, not on Friday as we spotted this small pod which didn’t scatter and hung around until our time with them was up.

AWESOME experience.

This is the second time AB Marine have spotted Humpback Dolphins this year – both times from the SAME vessel which leads us to believe that the Super Duck is a far superior vessel to get close to marine animals with than larger catamaran type vessels.
