In the three months that start-up digital marketing agency Developmenthub has been housed in the Propella business hub in Port Elizabeth it has grown from three to seven employees.
But, the planning for the agency goes back to 2012 when Developmenthub owner Odwa Ndyaluvane realised that “creating a website needs more than just a quick profile – it needs to be sustained, certified and guaranty popularity”.
He realised that a digital marketing company needs a combination of good coding, photographic, design and copywriting skills, but did not know how to make his idea a reality.
Propella is providing the necessary mentoring and support for the company, which is in its “pre-incubation” phase.
In this phase of a company’s growth cycle Propella helps to channel the interest and enthusiasm for the idea into a process for developing the new business says Ellen Fischat the business manager at Propella.
The business innovation hub’s incubator services and programmes are designed to increase a company’s likelihood of successful development and growth beyond what they could achieve on its own.
“Propella offers a buzzing business environment with generous office space and an amazing view of Port Elizabeth’s harbour.
“It has helped to add credibility to our start-up status, and the incubation programs have offered great business mentorship in regards to handling finances, law and compliance matters and access to markets” says Ndyaluvane.
Developmenthub will soon be moving to the virtual incubation phase, with Propella continuing to provide mentorship support.
