Join Port Elizabeth and MyPE in congratulating Mover and Shaker, Prof Heather Nel from NMMU:
Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University received a feather in its cap with the appointment of Prof Heather Nel to a ministerial committee by the Minister of Higher Education and Training Dr Blade Ndzimande to develop a national articulation policy for the post-school education and training sector.
The Minister requested Prof Nel, Senior Director: Institutional Planning at NMMU, to serve on the committee along with her colleague from the NMMU Centre for Integrated Post-School Education and Training (CIPSET), Uthando Baduza.
“The appointment is a signal of the confidence the Minister has in NMMU in terms of its role in shaping policy,” says Prof Nel.
In addition, she was nominated to serve as a member of the South African Qualifications Authority’s (SAQA) national reference group to develop a national policy for credit accumulation and transfer (CAT) that will also play an integral role in enabling an integrated post-school education landscape.
