Port Elizabeth Business on Google Plus

By

Business is always seeking value for money opportunities to promote themselves, hence the explosion of accounts on social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus.

Thus far our presence on Twitter has been large, on Facebook mediocre and on Google Plus kinda non-existent. Until now that is!

My ‘problem’ with Facebook and Twitter has always been that publishing on those networks have been like shooting with a low powered shotgun – everything goes on one page, the sheer volume of updates to timelines do not encourage engagement and the emphasis is on quantity over quality.

Google Plus does bring something different to the mix, though – the ability to bring conversations to a central place and encourage collaboration, thereby providing value for Port Elizabeth Business.

Give the Port Elizabeth Business community a try.

Initially their are two discussion areas open – a general on e and one for you to introduce your business. All that we ask is that you post relevant information that is of benefit and NOT out and out advertising that just irritates everyone and results in negative marketing.

As an example, this is what MyPE posted as the first introduction:

MyPE promotes 041 based businesses by posting news about business, via a classifieds section and a comprehensive business directory classified by product.

An active web site and absolute focus since 2005 has resulted in many new clients for local business.

The directory accepts free submissions ONLY from business in the Nelson Mandela Bay area (041 dialling code) – http://mype.co.za/new/pe/business-directory/

Value for money advertising options do exist – http://mypeads.co.za

We have created this Google+ space to allow PE Business to introduce themselves and offerings.

Passionate about Port Elizabeth and definitely NOT packing for Perth. Alan's ethos is epitomised in the words of Nelson Mandela; "I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society. If need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." See more articles by Alan.
