Police seek community’s assistance in separate Booysen Park and Walmer murders

Port Elizabeth: Detectives in Bethelsdorp and Walmer are urgently seeking the community’s assistance in the investigation of two separate murder cases allegedly committed last night, 15 May 2017.

In the first case, on 15 May 2017 at about 21:00, the body of Thembinkosi Mahlati (29) was found lying in the street in Booysens Park. Mahlati sustained several gunshot wounds to his body. At this stage motive and circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting is unknown. The incident is not gang related and Bethelsdorp police are investigating a case of murder.

On the same day at about 22:15, Babini Dinge (35) was gunned down in his shack in Airport Valley in Walmer. It is alleged that 3 men broke down the door and argued with Dinge about drugs. Two of the men were armed and shots were fired at Dinge. He sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his shoulder. The men left after the shooting. A case of murder is under investigation.
