Today’s posts from our featured Port Elizabeth Blogger:
Greetings lovelies!
I hope you’ve had a great start to the week.
This week I wanted to make mention of something I had said in my very first blog post
I told you guys that I did not, by any means, want to limit my closet to your typical straight cut slacks (pants) and suit bottoms.
Even though that statement still stands (I don’t limit my closet or corporate style to straight cut anything ), I wanted to show you how I would dress UP these ‘plain jane’ pants.

Slacks (Pants): Studio W ( Woolworths)
Shoes: Luella (Foschini)
HandBag: River Island

We all know that the corporate world dress code is one that is rather rigid, especially for woman. Stylista’s all over the world are adding their own spin on work wear. Thousands of woman are taking to the internet to express their work wear fashions.
I too LOVE styling up different looks in the work wear department.
Taking a bland or ordinary piece, and adding my own spin on it is something I take quite seriously. (No jokes.. I love what I do)
Here’s how I style up my daily work wear:
- SIGNATURE PIECES. Read about those here.
- Even though I’m “styling up”, simplicity is always key. For WORK, I’d rather ‘under dress’ than ‘over dress’… (refer to this post too)
- I believe in my heart that, off the shoulder tops are the real deal! This is one of the very few trends I trended along with. I’d advise you to invest in at least one off the shoulder item before summer ends. You won’t regret it

Greeting everyone,
and a warm welcome to those of you visiting for the first time!
Just to bring you all up to speed with my posts thus far, I’ll do a quick summary on my essential style tips.
With this week’s outfit choice, I’ve styled it in a way that I can explain and show you my favourite tips and tricks… most of which I’ve already spoken about in previous posts.
Let’s get started:

Make up: Mishka Amod ( Bookings )

Pants: River Island
Shoes: MRP
Handbag: Michael Kors (Chicago)

- My latest craze is COLOUR! I promised a few people ( one of those people being my mother ) that I would start wearing a bit more colour. Those of you that know me, know that Grey is my go to colour and nudes just make me happy. I’ve chosen to step away from that and try out different colours using different colour combinations and co ordinations.
- Next, we have PATTERNS! I’ve come to love patterns, aztec patterns being my favourite (they’re aesthetically pleasing
). Last week I spoke to you about how to wear patterns.. My advice to you for that is/was, If you’re going to wear a patterned clothing item, make sure that the dominant colour is a neutral or dark colour, so that it’s easily matched and pair with other items, i.e. these pants. Dominant colour here is navy blue, so I paired the pants with a navy blue top and navy blue/clear heels. - My love for FUNKY PANTS! If you haven’t already noticed, I love funky pants. My pants have become the staple piece of my outfits. Here I’m wearing a wide leg, tight top high waisted pair of pants.. with a great pattern. Have a look at my Style Identity post for more on the staple piece.
- My CORPORATE CHIC style secrets include two very important tips.. ” always carry some sass, along with a hint of wit” .. (So NB) You can read about that in my Corporate Chic post

This outfit combination is my personal favourite. I love the colour co ordination. It’s a lot, but in the most subtle way possible. I added the tan coloured hand bag to break the (navy) colour pattern

That’s all from me this week.
Feel free to let me know what your troubles are in the Styling department and I’ll be sure to help out!
Till next time
