Parlotones Gaan Kirkwood Toe

South African supergroup, the Parlotones, will be performing at the Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees after a world tour that includes the United States and Germany.

“This is the first time we will be playing for the people of Nelson Mandela Bay area since 2007. We will be treating fans to the same world class entertainment that has packed venues around the world,” says Parlotones frontman, Kahn Morbee.

The band will be on stage in Kirkwood from 22h00 on July 2 and will follow other South African favourites, Snotkop, Sorina and Dr Victor and the Rasta Rebels.

“We are honoured to be hosting the Parlotones so soon after their world concert as part of our tenth anniversary celebrations,” says Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees director Jenni Honsbein.

The Parlotones are very vocal and active on environmental and social issues, lending their support to various causes including CANSA, United Against Malaria and the SABC3 Carbon Free campaign.

“The Parlotones are proud to be associated with the Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees, which is committed to running a “green festival” and contributing to supporting biodiversity and conservation in the Sundays River Valley,” says Morbee.

“We believe it will be one of the biggest shows ever in the Eastern Cape, and festival-goers will be treated to a full day of fun, good food, shopping, as well as the live performances, all for the price of a single entry ticket,” says Honsbein.

Fair warning – if you intend to stay overnight to catch the Parlotones on Saturday 2 July at 10:00 pm and not ride back to Port Elizabeth you had better pick and choose from the Available Accommodation in Addo as all Guest Houses in Kirkwood are full.
