Ooba Insurance – Are we being duped?

10 December 2015 By Port Elizabethan

Good day.

My name is Wayne and have been with Ooba since I had moved to PE from Cape Town. Ooba provides the insurance cover for the house.

I recently discovered that they had outsourced the Building Insurance to Hollard. And this is where serious customer service issues had occured. In fact they offer a complete lack of communication as part of their package. What they will do is obviously take your premiums monthly.

I had contacted them on the 10 of September already and since that time have received no communication from them. I contacted them in November, I gave them the reference number. They at Hollard then referred me back to Ooba. I must admit they put me through. I explained to Ooba the complete lack of communication from Hollard, they said I must send in a compliant which I duly did. 2 weeks later- no response- I phone Ooba again. I was told that the complaint was there in the black hole and that they had asked Hollard to respond.

Wow – pillar to post and back. Roxy was her name promised to contact me. A week later, no response, I phoned back. I spoke to Roxy again who suddenly remembered that she was not going to phone me but that the Supervisor from Hollard would. She asked me to wait on line while she gets Hollard on the line – I was cut off. Still no call back. This is beyond poor – its pathetic.

Have other readers had issues with Ooba- but if you have the choice- DO NOT DO IT. Get someone else who you will hand over your hard earned cash to. Can you believe the number on their website is someone’s private residence!!!

Regards

Wayne Muller
