On the Elon Musk Saga

12 May 2023 By Port Elizabethan

Dear Editor

Since our sunny South African Citizenry is most-probably the number one nation when it comes to being status-conscious, I can therefore safely say that it is officially our Narodnost [national identity or populism or ethos in Russian] to love ready-mades.

The current case study thereof is the mindless claiming of Elon Reeve Musk as some Proudly South African messiah that, through his Tesla electrical company, can be touted as a silver bullet to the decades-long rot that has been going on in our embattled Eskom and the resultant politically-correct loadshedding euphemism being used to justify greed, inefficiency and outright disrespect for the general population of South Africa.

It seems to me that Social Cohesion is therefore a synonym for a Governing Cartel as one has seemingly to be anointed by the ANC and/or approved by the South African White Capital in order to achieve anything worthwhile in South Africa, as per apparent Convention for a Democratic South Africa [CODESA] directive and/or resolution of yesteryear circa 1993; hence the help from Elon Musk is a shallow-minded advocacy as he had already flown the Pretoria coop by the time of those arm-twisting negotiations for a Rainbow Nation were steaming up.

I am therefore saying that Mr. Musk is an outsider in South Africa for him to be blackmailed into helping out with anything at all; if being a CODESA PosterBoy or Not can still count as leverage for clout and/or influence in the country’s public machinations. Elon Musk, lest we forget, was also an outsider in Apartheid South Africa as he is not an Afrikaner, but most-probably of English lineage; hence I find it unwise for especially Black South Africans to lump South African Whites together when trying to guilt-trip or insult them with the ill-researched White Priviledge slander as being White is as dynamic as being African in Africa.

Regards
