The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber’s Top 40 under 40 achievers invite local business to join them in observing One Day Without Shoes on 10 April 2012.
This global initiative is designed to highlight the plight of children that have no shoes. Business in the Bay is going barefoot to show that we care.
Between now and 10 April, the NMBBC will be collecting shoes. The NMBBC have enlisted the help of their Top 40 Under 40 achievers to drive the initiative in their own companies, encouraging employees, colleagues, friends and suppliers to donate shoes or funds to this worthy cause.
Then, the initiative will ensure that every shoe collected will be handed over to the Metro’s Education Task Team, ensuring that this global initiative has tangible local benefits.
To take part:
- Commit your company to going barefoot on 10 April 2012
- Collect shoes or raise funds before One Day Without Shoes
- Let the Business Chamber know that you’re taking part, and keep us up to date on your progress. Use any means possible to collect shoes or raise funds – be creative and have fun!
- Drop off all shoes collected on or before 10 April at the following drop-off points: Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber, 200 Norvic Drive, KPMG House, Greenacres; Jaco Rademeyer Estates offices, Cnr 16th Avenue and Main Road Walmer; or contact media@nmbbusinesschamber.co.za to arrange collection
- Send images of your barefoot employees and clients to MyPE
The Top 40 Under 40 / One Day Without Shoes initiative is designed to give young business achievers the chance to give back to their community. The young entrepreneurs voted to the Business Chamber’s list are proactive and passionate about the Bay. Their involvement in this initiative demonstrates their commitment to the region and community spirit. The Top 40 / One Day Without Shoes steering committee consists of Luvuyo Bangazi of Boomtown Strategic Brand Agency and Alan Barr of KPMG, both Top 40 Under 40 achievers, and Buyiswa Yaya and Nicole Klokow of the Business Chamber.
