The bad weather won out in the end as the Sunfoil Series match between the Dolphins and the Warriors was abandoned without a ball being bowled on the morning of the fourth day at the City Oval in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday.

The first three days were all lost to a combination of rain, a damp pitch and bad light. Overnight rain before the last day, combined with a damp pitch with more rain predicted on the last day forced the umpires hand with the game being abandoned 30 minutes before the scheduled start on the last day.

The Warriors had won the toss and elected to field on the second day but no play was possible because of bad light.

Both teams will collect five points.
