#NMMU Classes remain suspended today

27 October 2016 Update: Classes remain suspended – The court-mandated mediation process has not yet been concluded. As a result, classes at NMMU remain suspended.

In a short note the NMMU Said; “The mediation has reached a point at which the issues mediated need to be presented at a mass meeting, which the FMF movement is arranging for 26 October. Classes will remain suspended for the day.”

Soon after the notification from NMMU the NMMU Fees Must Fall movement re-issued these demands via Social Media:

  1. Suspend Academic Activities
  2. Remove police from campus
  3. Drop all charges against staff and students involved in protest

The NMMU FMF has called a mass meeting of students for today at 18:00pm [sic] in the South Campus Auditorium.

The students are going to be very busy today as they are also mobilising support of 10 students appearing at the New Law Courts today at 09:00.

The NMMU FMF says; “We urge all students who are able to make their way to the New Law Court to show solidarity with our fellow students to do so. Transport for on campus students will be provided. We ask that students residing in central make their way to the court by foot, transport back home will be provided as we understand students will be tired after the days events.”
