Dear Editor
Come and have your say on the changing climate.
What do you say? How do we prepare Nelson Mandela Bay for the changing climate and its impact on communities & economies & ecosystems? The weather is changing, the economy is changing, those with the least resources will be impacted the most. Can we do something about that? We think we can.
The NMB Climate Resilience Project – a partnership with the Presidential Climate Commission and Wilderness Foundation Africa – want to engage with you and your community on how climate change has impacted you, what can we practically do to build a resilient metro, and what will such a metro look like in the future?
A number of community engagements have already taken place, but four more opportunities remain:
- Tuesday 01 Oct, George Botha Hall, Pleasant Str, Bloemendal, Bethelsdorp, 15:00-17:00
- Wednesday 02 Oct, Kariega, details tbc (the original Rosedale meeting has been postponed to this date, awaiting confirmation of details)
- Wednesday 02 Oct, South End Museum, South End, cnr of Walmer Boulevard & Humewood Rd. 17:00-19:00
- Thursday 03 Oct, Bible Society, 20 Barton Str, Cotswold, 17:30-19:30.
The meetings will be facilitated by WESSA ABB and ECCEF, with the Climate Resilience team there to update & engage with local communities.
For more information, contact either Gary on 071 610 2884 or
Kevin on 079 494 1092
See you there.
