New Category for Unique Local Health and Wellness Awards

The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber/SABCOHA Health and Wellness Awards 2012 has introduced a new category for the Metro’s Wellness Champion.

“The Wellness Champion Award will recognize the efforts of an individual who is driving health and wellness in their organization thus contributing to health and wellness in the Metro,” says Kevin Hustler, CEO of the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber.

Companies, NGO’s and schools in Nelson Mandela Bay are encouraged to enter the fourth annual Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber/SABCOHA Health and Wellness Awards 2012.

The Awards showcase best practice in health and wellness in Nelson Mandela Bay.  This is the only Award of its kind nationwide, which provide companies and NGOs with a high-profile opportunity to gain recognition for their best practice health and wellness programmes.

The other two categories remain the same as last year focusing on what Companies, NGO’s and Schools have achieved in 2011, from wellness to community-based initiatives.

“Companies need to promote and encourage a healthy lifestyle amongst their employees, and make this become part of a healthy working environment that combats loss of productivity due to illness and sick leave,” says Hustler.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber/SABCOHA Health and Wellness Awards are spearheaded by the Chamber’s Health & Wellness Task Team. They aim to recognize the commitment, innovation and resourcefulness of participants as well as the sustainability of their efforts in encouraging a proactive approach towards health among the employees.

Any organization that believes it is adding value to its staff, clients or community is invited to enter. Award winners are recognized for their best practice by showcasing their achievements.

The winners will be announced at the Awards Function on the 3rd of August 2012. Entry forms can be obtained from the Chamber’s website and the closing date for submission of applications is 30 June 2012.

These awards showcase best practice in health and wellness in Nelson Mandela Bay and are the only awards of their kind nationwide. These awards provide companies and NGOs with a high-profile opportunity to gain recognition for their best practice health and wellness programmes.
