Staying in the Eastern Cape and on the Rugby front…The SA Rugby Club competition the Gold Cup starts on Saturday. This is a second tier club competition after the Varsity Cup, and comprise of all SA Rugby’s provincial champions. One of the competition’s objective is to revive club rugby, but the gulf in terms of facilities and resources between the advantaged and disadvantaged clubs still exists.
Eastern Province’s champions, Gardens will host Sasol Digi Mag Secunda from Mpumalanga in Uitenhage in one of the matches.
